Good day guys long time hope you have all been good. Well we have been on break for a while but am happy to inform you we are back and better and we will be
delivering you news making rounds around the world of sport.
We will start our news today from Africa and currently the Africa under-17 championship is going on in Niger and we will be bringing you news about the tournament.
Similarly the Africa youth championship or Africa under-20 championship is kicking off on the 8th of March in Senegal.the tournament runs till the 22nd of March

Nigeria under-20 coach Manu Garba releases 21-man list for AYC 2015 drops star player kelechi iheanacho, also cut from the list are Chidiebere Nwakali and Musa Yahaya who has been tagged the ‘’Nigerian Iniesta’’ the two star players were however dropped because of injury concerns. The coach however reiterated that they will likely make the world cup list should they be fit by then. The list released has some players from the world cup winning under-17 team in UAE in 2013. Among them are Awoniyi taiwo, captain Musa Mohammed, Chidera Eze, Akinjide Idowu, Dele Alampasu.

In other news the Nigeria’s under-17 side couldn’t make it to the final of this years Africa under-17 championship as they were defeated by the ‘’Amajibos’’ of South Africa in the semifinal and they will have to settle for 3rd or 4th, they were however able to book a ticket to the under-17 world cup in Chile later in the year. Their coach Emmanuel Amuneke expressed his disappointment about their inability to qualify for the final but promised they would do better at the world cup and try to replicate the performance the Manu Garba led side achieved in UAE two years ago

We move from Africa straight to Europe and our first point of call is yesterdays europa league round of 32 matches which saw Liverpool, Tottenham, Celtic, Trabzonspor, all crash out. besiktas defeated Liverpool on penalties as the match ended in a 1 all draw on aggregate after extra time. inter defeated celtic by 4 goals to 3 on aggregate. Tottenham lost by 3 goals to 1 on aggregate to fiorentina, chelsea loanee Mohammed Salah scored

Arsenal,Liverpool and Manchester united record victories as Manchester city slump to defeat. Arsenal defeated Everton by 2 goals to nil at the emirates, Manchester united defeated sunderland by two goals to nil, Liverpool however recorded the greatest upset defeating Manchester city by two goals to one at Anfield. Chelsea however didn’t play any match in the league on Saturday meaning a win in their outstanding match extends their lead at the top of the league to 8 points

Chelsea were crowned winners of the English Capital One Cup or Carling Cup on Sunday as they saw off Tottenham hotspur by two goals to nil at Wembley. John terry put the Blues ahead in the first half and Diego Costa scored the second to give chelsea their first silverware of the season. Congratulations Chelsea FC

Barcelona,Valencia record victories as Real Madrid and Athletico madrid are held. Barcelona defeated Granada on Saturday to mount their title challenge, Athletico Madrid and Real Madrid played out draws with Real Madrid playing a 1-all draw with villareal while Athletico Madrid played out a goalless draw with sevilla

Bayern munich and Dortmund record comfortable victories over Mainz and schalke respectively. Bayern extended their superb form at the expense of Mainz defeating them by four goals to one making it three wins in their last three league matches scoring 18 goals in the three. Dortmund on the other hand defeated schalke by 3 goals to nil to show that they are back in winning ways

Nigerian golden eaglets had to settle for fourth position as they were trashed by the Syli Babes of Guinea three goals to one in the third place match at the just concluded Africa under-17 championships

Arsnal legend Thiery Henry has backed chelsea to win the treble this season. He believes they have what it takes to compete against any club in Europe

Away from football now we dive a little into tennis and our news today is about French Open record holder Rafael Nadal. The tennis star from Spain won a record equalling 46th career title on clay court in the Argentina Open on Sunday defeating Juan Monaco a major favourite for the trophy. Nadal who is currently world number four now has 65 career titles to his name. If you ask me that is a wonderful feat.

Before I sign off I would like to add something. Arsenal were defeated at home by 3 goals to 1 by AS Monaco in the first leg of the uefa champions league round of 16. Do you think arsenal can still qualify? Don’t forget that in the 2003/2004 season Arsenal lost at home to Inter milan by three goals to nil but still qualified after they defeated Inter milan by 5 goals to 1 in the return leg
